Handling fish
Wet hands, support the body, mind the spines. A photograph is not worth a broken fish.

Hands wet. Do not squeeze the guts. Hold a flatfish by the head and support the tail. A bass is slippery — a wet rag or a grip behind the head, not a thumb in the gills if you are putting it back.
