Long snood rig

A single bait on a long flowing trace so it moves in the tide. Turbot, brill, a fussy bass.
Let a fish bait work in a current.
A 3–6 ft hook length that will tangle on the cast unless you clip it or use a boom. You also need a grip lead that holds while the bait works. Presentation in tide, not a first flapper.

A dumping surf, kelp, or a 6 ft snood on a flapper clip that cannot hold it. Start at 3 ft, not 8 ft.
This rig wants tide. Slack water leaves a long bait lying dead. A race over sand is the job.
Marks: Beach. Ground: sand.
Grip lead that holds. Cast, tighten so you feel the nod of the bait in the tide. A take is often a slow pull, not a rattle.
Hooks 1/0–4/0. Lead: A grip lead that holds while the bait works.
Hook length 3–6 ft of 20–40 lb. Grip lead. Often clipped for the cast, then released. A boom helps on mixed ground. Shock leader as for any beach punch.
