Beach fishing
Most UK shore anglers start on sand or shingle. The fish are in the features, at the right tide, on a bait that stays on.

Two-hook flapper, lug or rag, 4–5 oz grip lead, two hours up to high and one hour down. Rods pointed at the sky, bait-clip off, ratchet or a visual tip. Bring a light, a measuring sticker and a way to get home that is not a flooded car park.
