Hooks
Match hook size to bait and mouth, not to optimism. A size 4 on a dab bait outfishes a 6/0 ‘just in case’.

Dabs, whiting, pouting: 6–2. General beach: 4–1/0. Bass, rays, hounds: 1/0–4/0. Conger and tope: bigger, and strong. Pattern matters less than sharpness and a bait that covers the hook.
