- Does this tell me I will catch fish?
- No. We talk in terms of good options and what is worth trying. Fish do not read plans.
- Are the tide times official?
- Official UKHO Admiralty tide data is used when that service is connected. Until then we will not invent high or low water. Use EasyTide, or your local tide table.
- Does the app show live weather?
- For the session you plan, yes — when a forecast covers that date and those hours. The plan shows wind, gusts, temperature, rain and air pressure from MET Norway, and sea state from the MET Norway ocean forecast: wave height, direction and sea temperature when those figures are present. A date outside the forecast, or a missing figure, is shown as unavailable. Another day is not substituted, and nothing is invented. Check Live Weather still opens BBC Weather for the town or beach you named. Exact fishing-mark coordinates are not sent there.
- Will you publish my marks?
- No. Saved fishing marks are private. Share cards never include an exact location unless you choose an area name.
- Is this only for beginners?
- No. Beginners get plain language. Advanced anglers get a tighter brief. You set the level once — Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced — and can change it. Nothing in the guides is locked because you picked Beginner.
- Do I need an account?
- Not to plan a session, browse species, or log a diary on this device. Sign in to back up your diary, claim a launch offer if one is running, and use photograph identification (1 a month on Free).
- Can I pay for Premium today?
- Premium is £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year through Stripe Checkout after you sign in. We only mark your account Premium after Stripe confirms the payment to our server — a success page is not enough. If this copy of the app has no Stripe secrets, the Premium page will say payments are not connected. When a launch offer is running, the first 50 eligible signed-in anglers can claim Premium free for 3 months. No card, no payment, no automatic renewal. After 3 months the account returns to Free unless you subscribe. Existing Founding Anglers keep their remaining months.
- What does Free include?
- The full session planner, species, rigs, the bait guide and bait basics, lessons, diary including blanks, Fishing Mission Mode, Trophy Hunter collection and milestone trophies, basic statistics, the general Coach, one photograph identification a month, browsing Catch of the Day, and selected local fishing marks from a postcode search.
- What does Premium add?
- Personal fishing intelligence from your own diary, including bait history and what bait to try next, smarter mission next-steps when you have enough history, Trophy Hunter personal bests, special collection badges and a hunt-next suggestion from your diary, a Coach that can answer from that history, 10 photograph identifications a month, posting or commenting on Catch of the Day, more local marks, an advanced Best Bet, and your history at those marks. It does not promise more fish.
- Does Fishing Mission Mode know fish are feeding now?
- No. A mission coaches from your session plan and what you record — casts, bites, blanks and catches. It does not invent live feeding, GPS, or a reason a blank happened. A blank is still a useful session.
- What is Trophy Hunter?
- A personal collection of UK shore species you have actually recorded in your fishing diary. First catch of a species unlocks it. Catching the same species again still counts as one collected species. Trophies recalculate if you edit or delete the catch that unlocked them. Exact GPS is never shared.
- Does viewing a species or an AI identification add it to Trophy Hunter?
- No. Planning to target a species, opening its page, talking to the Coach, or an unconfirmed photograph identification does not count. Only a confirmed recorded catch in your diary unlocks it.
- How many photograph identifications do I get?
- Free signed-in accounts: 1 per calendar month. Premium: 10. Unused identifications do not roll over. The limit is stored on the server, so changing this device does not reset it. Identifying by ticking features stays free and does not use a credit. The model is only called when you tap identify, never in the background.
- If Premium ends, do I lose my diary?
- No. Your sessions, catches, blanks and photos stay on this device and in your account backup. Premium only gates personal intelligence, personal Coach answers, extra identifications and Catch of the Day posting.
- Does Find fishing near me mean fish are feeding now?
- No. It uses seasonal and historical knowledge of well-known public shore marks. It is not a live catch report. Catch of the Day photographs, when they exist, are shown separately and are never treated as a feeding forecast.
- Does the Bait Guide know what my tackle shop has in stock?
- No. Availability varies by local tackle shop and season. This app does not know what is in stock today, and it will not invent a live bait run.
- Can I collect my own bait?
- Check local rules, access restrictions and protected areas before collecting bait. This app does not list local byelaws, bag limits or protected beds. If you cannot name the rule, buy the bait.
- Do you store my postcode?
- Only on this device, and only if you tick remember this postcode. It is not written into share cards, plans, or a public map. We do not keep a public map of private marks.
- How do I cancel a paid subscription?
- Cancel through the Stripe customer portal from Account or Premium. Access lasts until the paid period ends unless a refund requires earlier revocation. Launch-offer and Founding Angler places are not a card subscription, so there is nothing to cancel there — they simply end on the date shown on Account.
